HISTORY
Ruaraka Academy is a mixed private day school running in accordance with the city of Nairobi and the Ministry of education requirements. It follows the 8:4:4 education system in Kenya.
The school was established in January 1988 in a rented residential house situated behind the Safari Park hotel, off Thika highway. It registered 18 pupils on its opening day but grew rapidly and by the end of 2 years the premises could no longer hold the soaring numbers of pupils seeking admission.
A private developer agreed to construct a bigger school just a block away. In July 1990 the ideal premises were handed over to Ruaraka academy on a 5 year lease basis.
By the expiry of this lease in 1995, the current land was acquired and the wooden block constructed. Part of the school moved in 1996 and the rest of the school in the year 2000 after part of the stone block was completed.
Currently the school hosts over 900 pupils, from baby class to standard 8.
